Oh, Colorado.

Yeah, take a look at the picture below and remember to breathe.  We literally stopped at a gas station along the I-70 before Vail, and this is what it had to offer.
Alright, I'll take a few steps back.  So about two weekends ago my mom decided we were going to Denver to watch my cousin (who's from Oregon) in a softball tournament.  She literally gave me two days notice, but in Posey tradition I was ready to go.
We decided to take the I-70, because as everyone very well knows, watching grass grow is a better pastime than driving in Southern Wyoming.  Our first stop was the Mesa Arch hike in Canyonlands near Moab.  Heck, we had to do something along the way.  It was a really easy hike, but the real kicker was the nut job we met at the top who offered to take our picture.  When he was finished with the picture, he said in a very thick Spanish accent, "I can't tell which view is more pretty, the arch or you lovely ladies."  Don't flatter me Rico Suave!  Conveniently he got the shadow of his camera and tripod in the picture, thanks for the memento!
Well, who'da thunk, there ain't much to do in Denver.  Yes, it's in the mountains, but it's views are nothing compared to the Salt Lake Valley.  I may be partial, but at least in the Valley you can see the mountain.  I guess in Denver you're just on the mountain.  One fun thing we did was visit the Red Rock Amphitheater a little south of the city.  It was pretty exciting because tons of people were using the steps for exercise and this one guy literally started from the bottom of the stairs and ran all the way to the top in what felt like under a minute.  Trust me, it was worth watching. It was also fun to see the out of shape people teeter along, but that's my evil/cynical side coming out.
We also drove back along the I-70 because again, you'd be nuts to drive through Southern Wyoming.  The first time we drove through it was in the dark, so we were pretty excited to drive it during the day.  Right before we reached Vail we saw the semi-truck carrying all these expensive and luscious cars.  Typical.

All in all, a good solid trip.  Next time I'm doing Aspen and some river rafting.
