LOST, and I wish I was referring to the TV show...

Saturday.  No work.  Wake up early.  Go to Snow College with mom for Alta Football Camp.  Spells = SUCCESS.  Well, not so much.  We left our house around 6am for a game that started at Snow College at 8am.  We were stylin'.  I read my book in the car, got a little snooze in, then finally my mom woke me up to ask where to go.  I plug in "Snow College" onto my handy dandy googlemaps app on my phone, and it says we still have 100 miles to go.  "Mom, where are we?"  "Duh Lauren, Price, Utah!"
We were going to be late for the game, but we still had to try.  I tell her to just go a little south and use the I-70 to go around, but of course my mom makes me look at the map and see if there are any roads that cut across.  Well sure enough, there was Route 29 that would, in a perfect world, take us straight to Ephraim. We were in an adventurous mood, so we went for it!
Quakin', Quakin', Quaking Aspen!
It started out great with this beautiful reservoir, then we climbed a little higher and all of a sudden a dirt road hits.  Okay, why not?  So we went for it.  Did I say how pretty the views were?!  Trees to your right and left, then there would be a break in the trees and a view of the huge valley swept you away.  It only started to get alarming when we'd only gone three miles and it had been twenty minutes. Whatever, we're having an adventure!
Mom is the tiny dot with the black shirt
Well, the adventure suddenly stops when the road is completely covered by snow and there's no where to go.  There was a little road below the main road that was a little muddy, but we though maybe it went far enough to get around the snow. Warning: we are city girls and may not have been in the right state of mind.  As you can see in the picture above, my mom is running ahead on the road to see where it led.
As I only wore my TOMS because I didn't expect this river mountain expedition, I had to wait by the car.  What better to do with your time than take some selfers.  I was obviously fed up by the situation, and my TOMS had about an inch of mud on the bottoms.  All in a day's work.
What should be a road
Mom came running back and said there were one or two parts that looked a little difficult to get past, but then it looked like it dried up a bit.  Heck, let's go for it. There has only been one other time in my life, when I have absolutely been so scared for my life and that was when I slid on some ice down a steep hill in Sandy and got stuck in the snow.  This time however, completely trumps whatever happened before.  The mud was so thick I just knew a wheel would get stuck or better yet, at one point in the trail there was a huge tree in the road.  I looked at my phone for a distraction, and what do I see?  NO SERVICE.  Somehow by the grace of God, we made it to the end of the road, but only to our dismay, the road turned into a huge river.  Hey, if we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all.  Fine, two can play at this game.  We turned around, and after a few million prayers we made it back to the main dirt road to make our way out!
There were so many little waterfalls on this road it was crazy!  Turn your head left, there's one!  Turn your head right, there's another one!  Not to mention the Quaking Aspen coming out of our ears.  I considered taking up shop near one of them and not going back to real life until snow came.
The summit
Later on we found out that we were at approximately 12,000 ft., but as I said, all in a day's work.  We came, we saw, we conquered.
