As I am currently low on the funds, I thought of all the possible ways I could honor my mother on her birthday. Composing a dedicatory post on my blog is one of these ways. But seriously, my mother deserves the best birthday ever. I know of no one else that works as hard as her, is as funny as her, has the best hair as her, is as athletic as her, or watches the coolest TV shows as her. Of course the list goes on, but this can just give you a taste of the amazing personality my mother possesses.
One of the funniest qualities about my mother is that when she's working on her laptop she gets so focused. I mean rEaLly focused. For example, I'll ask her a question like "Mom, how many potatoes should I peel?" I'll stand there for a second...stand there a little more. Then I'll ask again "Mom, how many potatoes should I peel for the casserole?" Nothing. She hasn't looked up, she's still looking intently at the computer screen. Finally I'll give up and just choose a number of potatoes and hope its right. After about 5 or 10 minutes she'll look up and say "what did you ask" like I had just barely asked the question. Over the years I've definitely tried to learn how to read minds, but I still can't determine when she wants me to do a chore before she asks. We also have this lovely game of passing each other the TV remote. It's literally just throwing it from couch to couch, but if you make a bad pass at all or a bad catch, you won't live it down until you redeem yourself next time. My mom won't admit it, but I'm usually the winner at this game. If you by chance live in Utah, wish my wonderful mother a happy birthday today! She deserves it!
