The Weekend of Labor...and More!

Well people, it seems as though I've become lazier and lazier with my blogging.  I've always thought how cool it would be if I would blog right after I did something decent.  Not the case.  On the lovely eve of August 28th, I attended the Something Corporate concert.  I remember waking up at the break of dawn in middle school and always listening to their 'North' album, probably every morning of eighth grade at least.  Well, to say the least, the concert was not disappointing one bit.  A dream I've always had is to jump on a piano, but more importantly to jump on the keys.  Lead singer/piano player Andrew McMahon did all of the above.  Although I wish their set had been a little longer (only 1 hour and 45 minutes) the band did not disappoint, especially with the amazing lights.  (I've always had a fascination with a good lights at a show.)  Since this was their last show, it was great to witness history.
Last night I went to the Dodger vs Giants game at Dodger Stadium.  Our family has always been avid fans of the Dodgers, so this isn't something new to me.  I thought I was especially cool knowing that the opposing team is from New York, but at the game all the Giants fans were wearing hats with "SF" on it, meaning San Francisco.  Okay, maybe they moved cities.  Only a few hours ago did it hit me that the New York Giants are a football team.  But hey, the Dodgers won!  I think this is the only game I've been to when the Dodgers have won.  Yet again, more history in the making.
Last but not least, I went to the lovely Manhattan Beach with some friends today.  I got there around 11 and it was still overcast, but 12:30 came around and it was still way dark.  FINALLY, at 1pm everything cleared up.  Since I already had a pretty good tan from the summer I didn't prepare for any type of sunburn.  Boy was I wrong.  A tomato reminds me of the color on my body right now.  I guess it is true that even if the sun isn't out you can get a tan/burn!  The waves weren't big enough to do an super wave splashing, but at least the water was tolerable, unlike finding parking.  This about sums up the Labor Day Weekend, unless some other surprises come along!
