Only Ben Folds Can Make 'Chopsticks' Sound Good
On Saturday I was browsing my Twitter account and low and behold I came across something Ben Folds tweeted about a free concert in LA on Monday night. WHAT?! Well magic happened and I was able to attend. Among such audience members as Bob Saget and Jason Sudeikis, it was packed to say the least. To make it all better right before Ben began his set some mysterious liquid fell on my left shoe and I still don't know what it is. Soggy shoe = no fun. Although I spent most of the concert bobbing my vision in between the necks and heads in front of me, I had a good view of Ben almost the entire time. (Except to take a decent picture because the lights were so dark) No one can pound the low octave like he can. I swear the ground was shaking. Also, he was only supposed to play for 30 minutes, but ended up playing for an hour and a half! It felt like Christmas! At one point he sang a song he had to write when he was younger about a husband who's wife was cheating on him, but all in a broadway style. Leave it to Ben to come up with crazy lyrics. He also started the set with a song entirely about Levi Johnston. Enough said. The highlight of his concerts are always when he plays "Not the Same" and he conducts the audience in singing the little choir part. I think it would be so amazing to have people constantly singing along with you onstage, a definite compliment. I have to say seeing Ben Folds for the third time is definitely the charm.
