Music Pick of the Week (2)

I really struggled this week to find what I wanted to post, because honestly I haven't heard anything relatively new.  However, I just turned on my iPod to listen to music while I put some clothes away, and it wasn't the first song that played, but it was the band.

Here it is: Love Like a Sunset Part 1 by Phoenix

Although the video has Part II attached to the end, I still fancy part one a little more. (Please notice my use of the word "fancy."  My small effort to become more like iMOGEN HEAP.)

Although I haven't heard much of Phoenix before their "pre-celeb" days, I thought this song was a nice reprieve from their other, more catchy tunes.  Part I has a little Explosions In the Sky vibe, which would make sense considering I'm a little obsessed with them right now too.  Singing is overrated and it should just come down to the core content of the music.  Whoa, sorry, that was my inner music snob coming out.

Check the song out, let me know if you like it.  I promise I'll try and put more thought into next week.  Hey, it could've been worse: I thought about writing an exposé on the first movement of the Dvorak Cello Concerto.  That would be my music nerd coming out.
