Just A Beautiful Day In the Neighborhood

Today was a beautiful day in Herriman; lawn mowers buzzing in the background, crowds cheering at soccer games, bike bells clinking.  As an assistance to my mother, I went to the local Smith's fuel center to buy some gas for our lawn mower so we could join in on the fun too.  Well, you know that instance when you see something, look away, think to yourself "did I really just see that," then inevitably you look back.  That was my trip to the gas station.
On the pump opposite my car was a Herriman senior citizen just putting some gas in his tractor.  Just a regular day.  What really disturbs me about this situation is when I was sixteen I failed my drivers test not once, but twice.  I distinctly recall there being at least three questions on the test about tractors and their road rules, for example, "does a tractor have to follow the laws of the road?"  I'm sixteen, how the heck am I supposed to know the answer to that?!
Halfway through filling up another car pulls up to the tractor and the driver yells to the owner of the tractor saying, "Hey Ed!  Just fillin' her up again I see."  I guess we didn't quite have the same amazement at the situation.

Just a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
