In March a few friends and I went camping at Joshua Tree! I've never really heard any other stories about this place, the only reason I wanted to go is because my mom always listened to the U2 album "Joshua Tree" when I was little. I felt that if I went to Joshua Tree then the album would mean that much more. Oh and it did.

On one of the hikes we literally just parked the car and started heading out in a direction. As we were walking I was sort of lagging behind because I was taking a picture and when I started walking again I felt something in my right ankle. I looked down and I saw a large sticker in my ankle, like the ones in Utah. I tried to pull at it, but nothing was budging, other than the pulling on my skin. I yell at my friend and he just yells back, "it's just a sticker, yank it out!" Oh, okay. That's all there is to it! Well, it became an ordeal with taking off the shoe and sock and literally pulling out each needle, but it finally came out and just little holes were left in my ankle.
The reason its called Joshua Tree is because its covered with Joshua Trees! Although, I probably shouldn't have done such a suggestive pose with the tree, I'm pretty sure a park ranger didn't see. Overall, my opinion of Joshua Tree has gone up, except for the hideous desert (including 29 Palms and Palm Springs) that surrounds it. They'd need a lot more than a U2 album to help their reputation.

Ah yes, the promiscuous Joshua Tree! Actually, I don't have any kind of witty or funny comment, I just wanted to comment. Looked like a fun trip!
